I was just heading on over to the new site of Mary Rambin, www.MoreThanMary.com.
I’m personally ambivalent about the whole NonSociety/Julia Allison/Gawker Fameball thing. Not really into the hatin’, but also don’t have a ton in common with the ladies themselves.
I’m just interested in all permutations of “Attention/Lack Thereof and What It Does To You.” I got totally knocked off-kilter by a teeny-tiny microscopic look into a significantly less-nasty give-and-take online; I can’t imagine what kind of shit-losing I would be going through if people were, in fact, paying attention to me and being critical. It would be easy to say, “Well, I wouldn’t do the jackassy things that Fameballs do, so I wouldn’t be ripped apart” but I am pretty much a jackass a LOT so I probably would.
But anyway, point being, this is what my curiousity about the humans focused on today.
And this is what greeted me when I tried to access the site.
Um, yeah, I KNOW this is an old browser. I can’t post on either of my main blogs from this computer. It’s a work computer, I can’t do shit-all about it as this laptop blocks downloads. But thanks for the kinda bitchy reminder.
Is this what happens when you are torn apart too often on the internet? Irritation starts seeping out elsewhere? ‘Cuz I gotta say, I really don’t think that IE6 users are probably doing too much online hating and ergo do not deserve slight bitchiness. They’re too busy checking their AOL email or getting dropped from their dial-up connection. Or, like me, grinding their teeth down in irritation because 50% of the web looks like crap on this browser I can’t, again, do shit-all about. This is a population to be gentle with.
